Rick van Well is a PhD candidate at Leiden University, the Netherlands. He is writing a doctoral dissertation on explanations of government-opposition relations in parliament. Van Well’s research interests are parliamentary politics, executive-legislative relations and political parties in established parliamentary democracies.
Previously Van Well was a junior lecturer in political science at Leiden University and a researcher at ProDemos – House for Democracy and the Rule of Law. He completed a Bachelor in Political Science (2016) and a Research Master in Political Science and Public Administration (2018) at Leiden University. His thesis on executive-legislative relations in Dutch municipalities was awarded with the Research Master Thesis Award and the Jan Brouwerscriptieprijs Maatschappijwetenschappen.
